Greetings! I go by the name of Dr Hellion, also known as Dr Selina Ellis-Gray, and I am an illustrator and designer currently residing and creating in the enchanting Forest of Bowland, UK.
With a versatile approach, I employ an extensive array of traditional mediums and digital illustration packages to craft captivating works of art. My expertise lies in producing commercial commissions for a diverse range of clients, focusing on themes around nature, sustainability and the heritage sector.

Starting in 2017, I began a dynamic designer-maker space with a strong commercial focus, specialising in crafting exquisite wooden learning resources. These exceptional creations, known as Hellion Toys, have garnered widespread acclaim, being sought after by customers both nationally and internationally. Their popularity has led to featured appearances in various craft shows, fairs, and prominent press outlets.
In March 2021, I returned to illustration and commercial design work, exploring the realms of both digital design and traditional mediums. This enabled me to create artworks around themes and topics close to my heart around the conservation and restoration of the natural environment.
As of now, due to my current commitment to ongoing commissions and the workload they entail, I have decided to take a hiatus from conducting any workshop activity throughout the entirety of 2023. Consequently, no new toys will be produced during this period.
As an individual dedicated to quality, I have made the conscious decision to limit the number of commissions I accept in order to ensure the highest level of attention and dedication to each project.
